This might be of interest regarding the future of the Nissan System, as the New QQ will eventually have e-POWER - Dave 🤗

“Nissan today announced a breakthrough in engine efficiency, reaching 50% thermal efficiency with its in-development, next generation e-POWER system. This system utilizes an on-board gasoline engine to provide electrical energy to the e-powertrain battery pack. Nissan’s latest approach to engine development has raised the bar to world-leading levels, accelerating past the current auto industry average range of 40% thermal efficiency, making it possible to even further reduce vehicle CO2 emissions. Nissan developed a concept called ”STARC”, named after the key words strong, tumble and appropriately stretched robust ignition channel.”

Surely a gasoline driven engine to generate electricity to drive the wheels is almost hybrid with bells. I can see the benefit of the constant rpm on the engine to give best economy of fuel consumption, but there will still be exhaust gases with all the relevant problems.
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.
