I have a 2016 1.5dci
According to Nissan you should change the cam belt at 5years or approx 100000 miles.
My Tekna is coming up to 5 years but only has 35000 on the clock.
Would you just change the belt and idlers or do the water pump as well.

Hiya

Check for any leaks and check to see if the water pump bearing is rough or has any play in it. If all is well then I personnally wouldn't be too worried about changing it at that mileage.

Regards

Do the lot. A new belt will put more stress on the water pump. Not worth the risk for the cost of a pump while it's exposed, if it goes after costs nearly as much again.

Did mine when I had the cambelt done, I was only on 41,000.

Ok reasonable replies thanks guys.
My initial thoughts are the same as Noddy1875.
So the next logical question is “Who makes the best kit?”

The mileage interval is usually quoted variously between 72k and 90k miles - what does the book say? - but you've hit the time interval so need it anyway.

I suspect it something few have such wide experience of.

I went for this https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ina/7883818

If you're not in a rush for parts get them from autodoc. Cheapest place i found if you're getting a few at the same time. Got all my bits for cambelt change & full service. Takes a couple of weeks to arrive though.

Apart from oil, got that from somewhere else

thats about the right price for the kit as the belt alone is around £55, i always use parts in motion takes 2/3 days to arrive ;-)
