Hi all.

I'm looking at getting a Quashqai but am unsure if I want a petrol or diesel. what is everyone getting to the gallon and what do you think is the safer bet with all the scare mongering around diesel, is it still a good choice, and does the Qashqai use Adblue?

Thanks.

So far my mpg has been outstanding from that 1.5 AdBlue engine, it's a little gem....I know we should take the figures from the on board computer with a pinch of salt but, I'm still getting 65+ mpg on small local runs and 70+ when steadily cruising on the motorway.

As for what happens in the next 15 years regarding diesel, who knows....but I'm quite sure diesel drivers will get screwed over in some way, shape or form.

My best to date :D

My first QQ was a diesel and I regularly got mid-60s mpg

My current QQ is a petrol and I get mid-50s when I take it really gently

When you look at the MPG's on weasels car above a diesel @ 80mpg compared to my new 2020 1.3 dig petrol automatic, used on undulating terrain that gives me 35 mpg how can they say that diesels pollute our atmosphere more, when I am having to re-fill my tank roughly twice as often as our diesel colleagues, which means I am pumping out two tank full of pollutants compared to one tank of pollutants in a diesel.
Us drivers are being scammed somewhere !!!!!!!!.
What do you reckon folks ?

In Belgium people used to get incredible deals on diesel cars thanks to our government because they were, supposedly, far better for the environment. Nowadays the government changed their mind and punishes diesel owners in several ways. Politics and science are not the same, that I am sure off! Same will happen with the EV craze, sooner or later.

Over 50mpg in a 67 plate 1.6 dig-t n-connecta on a 100 odd mile drive down the M74 and cross country to the Solway Firth
