Hello
Deal done!
Today, I think it is an important day for us, Qashqai users.
Me with my father instaled the Merc thermostat. We rented an workshop and fitted the thermostat ourselves.
There are some issues at adaptors but I confirm: the Merc thermostat fits 1:1.

The news are not so good
After thermostat replacement, the cooling fun is startting imediately when I switch on the engine and it stopts when I switch off the engine . This is not normal .
I think the sensors are not compatibile with Nissan software maps.
How can I contact the guy who already replaced the thermostat ?

Great job, I think it is a sensor compatibility issue…
or … do you remember asking about the polarity of the connectors ? Anyway it fits 1:1, don’t give up! Is it possible to swap sensors from the previous one? If you connect an OBD Scanner it shows any error code?
This is the original chat, the user is Krisztián Papdi from a Facebook Group called “Nissan Qashqai”, I hope it helps. This is his fb profile: https://www.facebook.com/share/1E9eCrLU ... tid=wwXIfr

Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

I think that, as my colleague comments, the problem comes from polarity. If the thermostat opens when you start the car and closes when you turn it off, this is a good sign, along with there being no leaks. If you have adapted the electrical connector yourself (I seem to remember that you have), 90% the problem lies there. Change the position of the connector spuds.

Thank you, for your support. If I don't resolve this issue up to this week-end, I have to put back the Nissan thermostat.
There are no leaks. Every thing is very good. Just the sensor issue: the coolant fun is working permanently.
Any advice from electrician? It is thermistor, I don't think the polarity affects.
I appreciate any advice.
I am so close to succeed but so far.

No leaks, it can be installed for sure as that user said. Try to send a message to that FB user. I hope an electrician can help, anyway thermal resistors don’t have polarity.

Is there a way to swap them?

So.....
The car is at Nissan Official service to put back the original thermostat.
The issue is that the temperature senzor used by Nissan is PTC type and Mercedes uses NTC type.
One is increasing the resistance when temperature increase and the other is reducing the resistance, in the same conditions.
These infos are from Nissan engineer.
They are opposite in principle of operation.
So...my case is closed !

Seems my gut feeling wasn't that far away off...

But all my respect for all your effort!! ;)
