Apparently it’s the Mercedes thermostat housing with three bolts holding it together rather than the Nissan one which has no bolts.
If it can be fitted it will solve the issue.

The hoses are also Mercedes brand. I bought wrrong one of them, without connector. I bought again one hose, with connector.
There is an issue that I have to solve: the Mercedess pipes are not straight, they make an angle of 45. Also the connectors, they make an angle of 45.
You see in pictures.
The hoses and pipes of Nissan are straight.
The Mercedes connectors are one way connectors. They can not be rotated.

This modification of the Mercedes thermostat looks way too complicated with no guarantee all the different modifications will work, why not just change the Nissan thermostat every 3 - 4 years (if you intend to keep car) for piece of mind?

We don’t need to modify the thermostat housing itself; it has the same size and shape. Both cars have the same engine, and the bolts are in the same position. We just need to adapt the hoses.Howlsatthemoon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 5:51 pm This modification of the Mercedes thermostat looks way too complicated with no guarantee all the different modifications will work, why not just change the Nissan thermostat every 3 - 4 years (if you intend to keep car) for piece of mind?
It’s not an impossible task; someone has already managed to do it.

3 weeks later and it still isn't fitted
