My CVT is at the dealers again and apparently they are keeping it until it's fixed this time, having doubts I will ever see it again ?Y?”

Well just been told my car needs another gearbox again. Apparently the software update didn't work and has damaged this box too. Amos2015-03-06 11:43:58

After being told from Nissan that I should go to the "motor code"because all my faults are characteristics of the car, I got a phone call from my dealer to say Nissan are going to fit gearbox no.3a€¦a€¦Well, as its my 13th visit to the dealersa€¦.. it maybe lucky for some, lets hope its mea€¦.

AMOS - I take you have an acceptable replacement car to run around in whilst yours gathers dust?
Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.

Yep nissan has hired us a Citroen C4 Picasso. It's not as nice as the QQ but it's doing the job

Shame that it's not the Nissan GT that I was looking at earlier. That would certainly make it all worthwhile.

After a software upgrade the gearbox began surging when driving around 2k revs. Car going to dealers next week, informed a recall on the governing unit is also required. Will wait and see what happens next. They are keeping the cat for four days to fix various issues inc rear sensor fault, engine bay rattle, roof bar end cap finish cracks, start/stop system fault,

Sorry to hear of your problems. It was the same for me. Constant problems with the CVT 2 software update one of which caused same problems as you. In the end had a recall to fit new gear box but car was replaced before this was done. Hope they carried out the replacement before the new owner picked up his car!!
PS now driving an XTrail CVT. 3,000 on the clock and running like a dream. Thank you Nissan

Hi all, I've just come across from the other Qashqai Forum as I was about to trade-in my current QQ for a nice new one. My two main criteria for the new QQ are: Diesel and Automatic transmission..........then I came across this thread After reading 31 pages of DCi problems and 17 pages of CVT issues I'm having second thoughts. Does anyone know if Nissan has actually fixed the issues, or are they just being masked by software tweaks?Would everybody's advice to be to walk away and look for alternatives?????
