Hi guys,Has anyone seen this before? Service due at 8300 miles? My Engine oil was changed last week! The problem is, my warranty/service book does not have any stamps or stickers to suggest when my first service is due, so I have to rely on the car to tell me!!!uploads/737/nissan.jpg

If you are driving the new 2014 Qashqai and it's diesel your first service is due at 18,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

Thank you, yes, that is correct. That is why I was wondering if anyone knows of any reason why my service would be due so soon!

Are you sure it is not saying that the service is due in 8300 miles time?

:-) Yes, it says "service due in 302 miles" - I think there is a link to the photo I took in my original post on the top of this thread.

Sorry, I just realised that I made this very confusing. The message is "service due in 302" miles, the mileage of the car is 7898 and I miscalculated the total as 8300 (should be 8200 when the car thinks that it should be serviced)

Ivelina, so it should be easy to explain then. Select "Settings" in the menu, followed by "Maintenance" and then "Alerts" I suppose. Check the Service interval what it says. Seems to me that the service reminder was incorrectly setup.

Id backup Duncho on his comment. Seems the most likely answer.

[/QUOTE]I've seen these reminders had been set-up incorrectly (usually set at 9k instead of 18k) in the factory and also by the technician on PDI. You can easily reset it or just pop in to your local dealer to have it corrected.

I have just had my 1st service at a Nissan dealer
for a Qashqai 1.2 petrol Tekna. When I checked the level of oil a few days
later, the level was showing three quarters full. I know that this is within
specification but I require it to be on the full mark. I decided to top the
level myself and asked what grade of oil they used in my car for the service.
Nissan said it was 10w/40 fully synthetic but I have seen in my handbook that
Nissan recommend 5w/30. My question is - should they have used 10w/40 in their
service and if so what do you recommend I buy to top up.
