That said, when topping up it takes a fair while to settle. I leave the dipstick out for 20 mins after topping up, then re dip and it doesnt then come out fully coated.
Is there more than one type of 1.2 dig-T engine, because mine does have a separate dipstick opening to the main top up opening?
I'm referring to my 1.5dci and assumed they were all the same.

Nope, all completely different.... the 1.2 has the infamous curly dipstick that is virtually impossible to figure out.

After reading the comments on the Oil Filler & Dipstick positions I thought I was going more round the Bend. Just checked ours see pic and it has the Curly Dipstick also - Dave :D

For those not in the know, here's the dipstick... That curly bit in the middle means the dipstick doesn't just go straight down, you have to rotate it backwards and forwards a few times before it descends properly. Which means you end up with oil all over it.

Hi all,

I've ordered a new J11B 1.2 QQ N-Connecta this last Sunday and I thought I'd have a look through the forums and I've come across this thread.

I was wondering if this oil loss issue is still a problem with new engines? I haven't read through everything on here (it is worrying long :) ) but I noticed a lot of issues are older cars, but is that the case?

IT does appear to be limited to 2014/2015 cars with nobody else reporting anything with a 2016 onwards car so unless Nissan cock up again, they should be a good engine.
