Never really checked the actual usage on mine till now as it's always seemed around the max.

At the last service/oil change, on 30th Oct, I checked and it was about 4mm above the max mark.

Done about 2,700 miles since then and now it's on the max mark. So 4mm in 2,700 / 3 months.

Is this acceptable or cause for concern?

chrisw99 I would suggest yours seems ok, but catnash yours sounds more than a little excessive. Go and talk to your dealer.

I have noticed a bit of seepage around the sump pan seal, so would expect a little loss from that, and not really concerned if that is the source of a drop as can just top it up.

I seem to recall somewhere that the oil 'sump' is no longer bolted on the engine but 'glued'. If thats the case your oil seepage may just need a bit more glue?? Just a thouhgt??

I had a look at mine and it was quite oily at the rear corner nearest the drivers side wheel. I think when the engine is off, all the oil is below this seal so would only ever leak when the engine is running.

I think every car I've ever had has had an oily sump seal to some extent, so not sure if this is an actual problem or just one of those things. It's still well above halfway between min and max on the dipstick (probably 2/3), some 8000 miles and 10 months since the last oil change.

Took a photo for reference, easy to see if you park with your wheel at full lock to the left and you can just peer in behind. I had just wiped it all down so it's nice and dry and clean, so I can monitor it before the 3rd service 1st MOT due in October.

I'm looking for a used QQ 1.2 petrol for my wife. I have come across this Topic and i'm a little worried now. Was this piston problem with a certain QQ batch or still ongoing? Is there ones to avoid and apart from checking the oil level is there any other symptoms to look for before buying?
Thanks

I think the problems were identified with 2015 models although mine is May 16. It used no oil for 5000 miles then started using lots. Engine changed and no oil used for about 5k now needed a litre over last 3k miles.

I started getting a rattle on mine which sounded like an exhaust heat shield rattling. Took it in and new engine. The dealer was brilliant but my confidence is lost in this brand.
