where did you get the car serviced? You need to go back to the place you had it serviced for a copy of the report...

Not quite sure what to suggest otherwise. Without the evidence that the car was serviced you are going to have a very hard time with Nissan! If you paid for the service you maybe able to go through old card statements to show a payment was made?

Or ask your bank for statement 1 year after you purchased the car...you have to ask why the car did not warn you the level was low to ruin a engine but in the end of the day you need to check oil level.....read the posts on how to check this engine. .......let us know how you get on.......david

Im with you 100% here David, but!

I've had lots of cars, new & old but none have ever used up so much oil between servicing that they have run out of the stuff. As a minimum if there are known issues with engine oil consumption the manufacturers should supply an oil level warning system. How hard can this be, cars have had these systems for decades. I'm blaming Nissan all the way here, its their incompetence for not fitting a level warning.

Mine is due for a service next week , and the level on the dipstick is about 1/3rd of the way between the LO and HI, so I'm guessing that's normal loss and acceptable over 12 months.

To the above poster, have you had a second opinion? Nissan once told me I needed a new turbo for £2000 at a service, got a second opinion elsewhere and I didn't, ran that car another 40000 miles and 3 years without a turbo problem, so was it just Nissan trying to pull a fast one and make some money from me. What does "affected drive chain" actually mean? Does it still run ok?

Evidence of servicing isn't as easy these days to us as drivers as you don't get service books anymore which surprised me. When I bought my 2.5 year old QQ in March and inquired why there wasn't a service book I was told it's all on the computer these days and they printed out a page to show me. Refused to drive away with the car until they had given me an old fashioned book and filled in the details of the first 2 services.

Chris, sorry but I beg to differ on the comment of Service Books. From New we have always had a Nissan Service Book (3 now) which has been stamped and signed at every Service inc. Body / Paint checks for the Guarantee. After each Service I always get the Service Sheets (normally 2) which have the specified Checked Items on and then the „Bill“ which is the one that hurts 💶. This list is then explained by the Service Dept. to explain what was done and why.
If a vehicle is bought Private / Second Hand for example to me it is important to somehow see and obtain this Data.

The papers that are not normally given out in my case is the „Guarantee“ rework, although I sign for the work to be carried out copies in my case normally have to be requested.
You can call me „Crazy“ the wife does but I keep a File with all the QQ Paperwork / Bills in it along with the Accessories bought whether it be Nissan / AliExpress whatever. As a fall back situation this History / Data is always there and IMHO is important when the QQ is sold for the Dealer or Private Customer.
Just my opinion and I am sure others have their opinions - Dave 😏

Dave, It's not my opinion, it's what Westway Nissan told me when I bought the car secondhand in March - "we don't do service books anymore, it's all on the computer". My opinion is the same as yours, hence my insistence they found me an empty one and filled it in retrospectively.

Chris, seems a bit weird to me, how does a customer have any idea what and when his QQ was last Serviced ? Except for the Bill. Does this mean that you have to ask or are actually given this copy. It would interesting if a New QQ J11B 2017 Model Owner has or has not been given a Service Book just out of interest.
Would it be possible for a New QQ Owner to advise on this point - Thanks in Advance Dave ;)
