Maybe this is the point you should be pushing, as I'm sure I've read on here that cars that have been exclusively serviced by Nissan have without doubt had the same issue, and I think there have been others that were out of warranty that have had engines replaced free of charge, though you might have to double check on that matter.

Maybe contact member, Zezinho on the previous page, whom had the engine replaced free of charge.

Loyalty should have nothing to do with it in this case, regardless of whoever serviced this engine it was always going to fail at some point and Nissan now know it.

So, if they are going to provide a replacement engine for one out of warranty customer, then they should provide replacement engines for all customers with the same issue.

There was a software tweak - maybe not applied?

It was actually called a "new engine calibration"

Hi Gloucester...so was the software tweak supposed to fix the oil loss issue?

I would imagine Nissan wouldn't entertain any warranty claims if said software update hadn't been done, plus considering the ongoing nature of the oil loss issue in some ( if not all ) cases in didn't work.

Hey all.
Has a rattling sound from the engine that only occasionally comes on acceleration.
Chops while the sound comes.
The sound from the movie is identical to the sound from our qashqai.
Have you realized it's the same engine?
Is it the chain that sounds or what is wrong?
The workshop says they can't find anything wrong ..

The video I’ve posted below maybe a crumb of comfort for those with “within tolerance” oil loss but with no other symptoms.

I had the same noise...it started at about 50 000 km (i'm french)
Dacia Dokker 1.2 TCE 115 from 2013
Next step was oil consumption
Then loss of compression in a cylinder
Motor to be replaced...115 000 km, 5 years and 2 months

on these motors you have to watch The knock sensor error log
and you would almost have to do a cylinder compression test from time to time !
to check the degradation of engine
