Hi we need to do something about this software problem we need to stick together my car's been in for two months now in Nissan garage in Birmingham and I've been told that I have got low compression and then they are thinking it might be the turbo so I've don't they have done apart strip on the engine I don't even know how much that is going to cost me I have not give the go-ahead for that too but I need to find out how I can prove it was a software that ruin my engine
Hi I have a Nissan qasqashi 1.5 diesel I am looking for any independent Nissan specialists in Birmingham I am from Great Barr

Not to rub salt in the wounds of those still suffering, but over two runs to and from Devon over the New Year, five up with luggage and presents (it was full) the QQ performed faultlessly.
Plenty enough power (but it is remapped), quiet enough when on the move and 52mpg to boot (cruise set at 80 when possible)
What ever they did and then Superchips did over the top, is working fine.
It is clattery when cold / pottering, but when doing what the diesel is supposed to do, it does it well even after the ECU fix.
Its in for an annual service and MOT next week (not with Nissan) so will see if anything arises (from emissions or fault codes)

Good luck where your QQ hasn't responded as well as mine, perhaps the fix needs to be reapplied by the dealer?

HI folks
first time on the forum, hope you are all well
just looking a bit of advice or update, my 2012 Qashqai had an issue with a split intercooler pipe which led to the DPF blocking Nissan paid for all as this pipe is 100,000 mile or 4 year warranty so saved 2000 at the time.
however as apart of the repair they updated the ECU I was told the the update failed the first few time they tried it as there was a faulty rear sensor this was replaced and the update took, however since then MPG falls form 55 to 35 and a rattle noise is heard which I was told was diesel knock and to run the car for awhile to see if it was bad diesel, a month later and still no better I have also noted when cruising a judder/ misfire on the engine, which is getting progressively worse but is still intermittent, phoned Nissan this morning and register a complaint with customer services phoned the dealer and explained I have found multiple forums/ complaints about ECU update and the related issues car is booked in for Friday 27th to (have a look?) I queried the cost and was told that they would look at the car first and go from there.

however it seems that this ECU update is becoming a major issue the question is has anyone had a update from Nissan or heard anything from watchdog etc.

thanks in advance

Quinn

Been looking into this got the car update done again but noise still there but mpg better nissan are saying depending on driving style I can take up to 8 to 10 weeks for car to learn the update sound like a load of bull spoke to local parts place about it injector testing as nissan say this is next step they said to buy new filter fill it with injector cleaner and put it through car then fill the tank full sorts out all problems with it injectors I don't think the judder is injector issues but more the ecu update but nissan won't admit to it

You should add your model type eg J10 or J11, and engine type so we have some idea what you're talking about Quinn.

That makes it a J10 I believe
I also believe this recall and 'fix' applies to the 1.5dci, not the 1.6 or 2.0,.......?

A quick update on my 11reg 1.5dci, post recall is that continues to clatter but work fine (but it is remapped and that may make the difference..)
It flew through the MOT last week with only expected emissions

So I may be a / the lucky one

Hi Folks, just an update on the loss of mpg on my Qashqai since software update on the ECM, it has now gone back to running normally after some 600 miles, I don't know why! I took it back to Nissan who did a free diagnostic check on the engine, no fault codes!
All I can say is if you have had the update it may take some months to settle down to normal! Nissan are continually telling me that the update would not influence the mpg of the car! Truth is it did!

Yes I have had the same problem after the 'fix' - see my post.
