Traction control, engine managment light

Hi,

I wondered if someone could help me I recently had the ECG changed on my Qashqai and a couple of weeks ago the car completely lost power and wouldn't move above 20 miles per hour and was then producing black smoke out of the exhaust.

My car got towed to a local garage where I had the inter cooler replaced (it had split) but the engine management light (red) would not turn off. The garage have checked the DPF pressure sensor and all seems to be ok but when a diagnostics test is run, there are two P codes coming up. The garage cannot get to the route of the problem as it is saying that there is a problem with the DPF which is caused by an issue with traction control.

The garage has suggested that I book my car in with Nissan to be seen (at a cost of £108 per hour!). I have my car back now but not only is the red engine management light on but also the amber one. When I accelerate and the car goes above 2500 revs, the traction control lights come on (also amber) - these lights only turn off when I turn the engine off.

Has anyone got any solutions before I pay Nissan a huge amount of money?

Thanks

Alice

You need to provide some details of what you drive, engine type, year etc.

Suggest you google for Independent NISSAN Specialists in your area.

Still seems like a dpf failure...or a rear oxygen sensor failure...or even a egr valve malfunction....
Best bet is take it in to a Nissan dealership and see what transpires.

Hi,

I recently just had a new egr valve fitted, garage checked and it wasn't that.

I have now noticed that the traction lights no longer come on and neither does the amber engine management light. It is now just the red engine management light that comes on and stays on.

£108.00 per hours for Nissan to investigate!!!!
