Hello everyone and nice to have joined the group,

Right, over the past few weeks iv been having a very noticeable wobbling sensation on acceleration which occurs right through the gears until the speed levels out, but back again when pressure is applied. To the point where it feels like the whole car is shaking heavenly, Its not felt through the steering but more so on the acceleration peddle as if its about to fall off.

Iv had the front discs changed to eliminate a warped disc and its still the same.

if anything it seems to be getting a little worse each day.

I spoke to a mechanic who suggested that the flywheel had gone and I would be looking at £1000 for a new one with cluch, however the more I google I keep finding less about the flywheel and more about the drive shaft.

I have the 2008 2.0 Tenka D Manual

Any help or advise would be massively appreciated

Thanks all

Garry

The fly wheel is attached directly to the engine crankshaft, so rotates at the same speed as the engine. The wobbling you would feel from this would be relative to engine RPM and not speed. Do you get the wobble just by revving the engine?

If it was a drive shaft, u most probably would get the wobble feeling even after you stopped accelerating but maintaining speed. Drive shafts dont usually just bend, its more common for bearings to fail.

A quick search on google "my car shakes during acceleration".

First hit is "Struts and shock absorbers should be checked and replaced if they are worn out because they can be the cause of the instability, leading to a bouncy ride or vibration as the car accelerates. The upper strut bearings should be checked and replaced, if necessary, because they are a common cause of vibration."

It sounds like there is something worn in the front suspension, it could be a bush, bearing or any of a number of things. It could even be the wheel alignment / tracking. You need to find a good quality mechanic who can get the car jacked up so he can look for wear, usually involves using a leaver to check for worn joints. It could even be a loose engine mount.

It was never going to be your brake disks as the vibration from warped disks only happens when you put your foot on the peddle.

Good luck

Thanks Dewar, I think its a visit to a local garage in the morning again. The funny part of it is some days you can hardly feel it to the extent other days you can actual see the headlights flickering when its bouncing so much :-(

What happened when you went to the garage? Updates to queries are always appreciated.

Isnt it annoying when a poster joins a forum to get advice, then never comes back with an update? Maybe he sold it and you bought it Barry? :D

I have a similar fault on my 2014 1.5dci.
Drives smooth until I get to 60mph then car starts shaking.
I had the balancing and tracking checked but still the same.
Going back in to garage next week to get hopefully sorted, I have been told that it is possibly cv joints or drive shafts.

Okay, So I'm here because I'm embarrassed to say after 35 years as a seasoned professional motor Engineeer, a 2011 Qashqai 1.6 Petrol, with 80,000 miles and Full Nissan History has me completely stumped !

Came to me with a front shimmy / side to side wobbling under acceleration from rest, and when applying throttle only, had been in two separate Main Agents, both of whom could not find the cause, has had so far : all four tyres replaced, swapped from front to rear, and diagonally corner to corner, digital balancing and four wheel alignment, New front brake discs and pads, both bottom wishbones and ballpoints, lower rear large engine / gearbox mount, top rear engine mount. raised off ground and both driveshafts show no play or movement whatsoever ( although aware I may not be able to completely replicate internal fault ) crankshaft is mated to flywheel so vibration would be there at all engine speeds surely ?

No vibration when braking, no vibration through steering wheel, but car physically moves side to side as do you in the seat under any acceleration ! over 60/65mph all is smooth and dandy ?????

At the end of my wits with it ......factual ideas greatly appreciated, guesses not so much !

Many Thanks Indeed
