Engine Stalling

Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before but new to forum.

I have a Qashqai 1.5 DCI, 2012 with around 45k on the clock.

The car normally drives brilliantly but whilst driving last week in traffic the car started to feel a bit sluggish then the red engine management light came on the car then as I came on to the motorway it gradually started to lose power dropping from 70mph to 40mph when I pulled on to the hard shoulder it stalled completely.

I got towed home and plugged in an OBD reader which showed a glow plug fault (P0380) and Powertrain (P047B) (Exhaust Pressure Sensor). The car will now start but stalls after a few seconds and wont go above 1500 revs.

I had a mechanic look at it as a favour and he initially thought it may be a dpf issue, but it won't run long enough to do a regen, he thinks it may be a loose sensor or part, any suggestions? I am happy to get it to a garage but would like some idea of what it is first.

Update: I have just checked over the engine and the Air Intake pipe for the turbo has split, bought and fitted an original part from Nissan (£65)

I still have an issue with the exhaust pressure sensor, I cant find the sensor anywhere to look at replacing it, any suggestions where it might be?

Is it connected to the pipe on the exhaust system?

The fact the back pressure sensor is coming up I wouldn't rule out a DPF issue still, had a similar issue with a BMW.

Take a look at this thread too, very similar symptoms and that was DPF related:

Thanks for the replies. Based on that thread it looks like its definitely a DPF issue.

I have just ordered some cleaner to spray on to the filter. Will see how I get on.

May need a Terraclean treatment.

Update: spray should be here tomorrow so will be giving it a try.

I have been told there should be another sensor, I can't find one anywhere from looking about there's a few links to eBay, is this part below or similar with 2 pipe links actually in the engine some where or am I being mislead by the garage?

I think the garage is referring to this one but the service manual only seems to show it as part of the 1.6 system.

Before spending anymore money I'd do the DPF clean, I remember on my BMW I had the two sensor issues, once the DPF was clear they went away so required no new sensors

Is it running now? On my old PT Cruiser I had a similar problem, random engine stalling, low power, different sensor fault codes etc. My turbo pipe had split as well, and because it was a mechanical failure and not something an electronic sensor or programme could detect, it just threw up possible random codes.

If it's driving ok now, I'd reset the codes and take it for an Italian tune-up, see if any codes come back
