My car was in the garage yesterday as it kept losing power once getting to 60mph.

They said it needs the turbo replacing and quoted £1,850 inc vat to replace and fit. This is obviously very expensive but am I being ripped off?

I use my car to get to work every day on the motorway and they said it takes 2 days for them to get the part so it still could be Monday before I get it back. My dad is now concerned I’ll be paying too much.

The car has done 85,550 miles and is a diesel.

Any advice gratefully received, thank you.

If there is a fault with the turbo you would find low power all the time, not just when you get to 60mph.

Search Google for a company that will replace your turbo for a reconditioned unit. Here is a search starter.

Here is an idea of price. They start at £230+VAT.
