What oil do you use

It's true both oils are the same below 0 c and 30 is thinner when engine up to temp but 40 will protect better on long motorway runs dealers as you know stock every make so they buy 45 gallon drum of a oil that does every engine as long as it's up to spec the thinner the oil the better eco .....but dealers don't pay for fuel and it's not there car ......years ago you moved up a grade as your engine done the miles....showing my age now
