Hi

Just thought I'd join up and let you all know that my 2013 Renault Megane with this engine had a brand new engine and turbo fitted last year on the last week of its 4 year warranty for an engine rattle, appeared to be timing chain related,

The dealer were instructed by Renault to replace full engine and turbocharger.

I have spoken to Renault CS who, as expected know nothing about the issue!

So pleased I found this forum, I have a Juke that seems to be burning oil and have a piston issue. Just out of warranty. In for diagnostics this week, hoping that Nissan will sort it out. It falls within the serial numbers listed in the bulletin. I will be taking this all the way, as I bought from a Nissan dealer in 2016, so with a known problem. Anyone else had it sorted out when it's out of warranty?

The technical bulletin has been updated...

Now, ALL engines are affected...J11, F15 and C13...Euro 5 AND Euro 6 !!!

an internal note allows you to improve support up to 5 years or 90,000 miles (Nissan NDQ 1833)

if your engine makes noises when accelerating, or if it abnormally consumes oil ... then you are probably concernedImage

Interesting.

Makes me wonder about the replacement engines loads of us already had, whether these are also at risk.

How would i check that, the Vin chassis number refers to my car, not the engine, so how can i check if the new engine is in the range?

Levenrek, Many Thanks for posting this information Bulletin although from 2018. Usually these so called “Goodwill Extensions” appeared to be more US Based. We got rid of our 1,2L but never had a problem but this must be of interest to affected parties - Thanks again Dave 🙂

Although the bulletin is from 2018, it states “Updated 23/12/2019”

Who issues the TB seen in this thread?

I recently talked to my dealer here in Sweden as i think my QQ 1.2 eats oli in an abnormal way.

The dealer said that the TB is not any official Nissan bulletin and that it's issued by nerds that have found some small tolerance deviations explaining a quite normal oil consumption from these engines.
