HI,

Have a 67 QQ 1.5 diesel.

Find that at low revs, around 1200 the engine makes a vibrating sound.

Is this normal as its too low a rev count or does it need looking at? Runs fine reset of time, just in 1st and 2nd gear when stuck in traffic if you dont keep the revs up it does "growl" now and again.

I have the same problem but on 1.6 DCI XTRONIC ,66 plate .
But only when i'm putting the gear in D mode or R mode.
And at some point or while driving up til 40 mph it does have a wierd sound under the bonet. Sounds like having a bolt in a washing machine or like tiny rocks hiting the metal, but not all the time. On driver's side.
I got only 30k miles on it. Bought the car today and haven't notice the sound until i got near home.

May not be anything to do with your problem but I've seen on here people noticing noises at low revs have found it to be the plastic intake. The tubes from the airboxes are not solid, they can't rattle and rub. Also read about a heater hose rubbing where it comes through the fire wall. Can't remember the specifics of years and specs of the cars tho but might give you something to search

This is obviously a design fault. Why’ is it not addressed by Nissan in a standard Nissan service?
