Hello,

It's a known procedure to reset this CVT transmission learned value and calibration after CVT transmission oil change?

Thanks!

I have a CVT coming up for first service. What does this 'learned value and calibration'mean?

I wouldn't worry in your case. I presume he's talking about a transmission oil change and your service won't include that.

Will be interest for you when you service the transmission CVT. (Drain old oil, change external filter, internal oil pan filter, gasket pan and clean magnets deposit and fill with new NS-3 CVT oil)

After this you need to:

1. Clear to 0, reset the oil degradation (CVTF Deterioration Date)
2. Bleed the air from transmission oil pump (electric O.P Air Bleeding)
3. Clear TCM (transmission control module) learning value (RESET TCM or Erase Learning Value)
4. Recalibrate/Relearn (FWD Clutch Point Learning)

After that the CVT run with default setting and learn again your driving style and moving from P to R to N and D/Ds will be more gently to feeling and transmission answer better to acceleration.

For this you need OBD tool, Consult III or Launch PRO.

On normal use, Nissan say that is no need to change oil because is life time :)) (LOL) on other way should change it on 90.000km but they do not change filter, gasket, only the oil(drop n pan).
