Hi guys I got this car last week, 57 plate with 8700 miles. Query is that when pulling away in first there is often quite a bit of rudder through the clutch, unless I use what I would deem slightly excessive revs.
Now I've come from a mk 2 focus st which pulled away with no throttle just by letting the clutch up so it's possible I haven't adjusted yet..however I'd like to know if approx 1700 rpm to pull away in first to avoid judder is acceptable in this car, I'm aware it has a dmf.
Does this model suffer from this? Is it normal?

Do you mean 87000 miles? 8700 is a very low mileage for an 11 year old car.

My 2016 1.6 dig-t, which I've had from new, developed a clutch judder at about 42k miles. You could avoid the judder most of the time by doing exactly as you say, putting slightly excessive revs on while pulling away but this is not, of course, ideal. The judder occurs more under load; e.g. hill start but can occasionally occur between 1st to 2nd gear change. The car has mostly been driven on long runs, with one person on board, i.e. the clutch has had an easy life. Plus, my previous car, Nissan Primera, did 132k miles without a hint of a clutch issue so I know my driving style is not bad for clutches. I put the car in the garage to be fixed with a chance that it would fixed under warranty. However even though the Nissan garage has confirmed there is no excessive clutch wear and tear, as they cannot point to a specific manufacturing defect or component fault, Nissan Warranty are not going to give a bean towards any repairs. To add insult, the bill is looking bigger as the recommendation from the garage is to replace the flywheel as well as the clutch, while the gear box if off. Diagnostics are, apparently, limited on a flywheel, so as far as I know this may be perfectly fine. The car is still in the garage as I type while we try to figure out what to do.

It would be interesting to know if there are more out there with the same issue?

I had judder I’m y 1.5 dci at approx 21000 miles and two years old. Mentioned it to the stealer and after testing they agreed there was some judder. So they took it in and removed gearbox, diagnosed the problem as a faulty dual mass flywheel. Apparently it was 2 to 3 mm outside manufacturers spec so they changed flywheel and complete clutch assy under warranty no questions asked. So I was pleased

Well it's going in on Thursday for them to check...I'm leaving it overnight as I told them the judder is far more noticeable when the engine is cold. We will see.

my 1.5 diesel 66 plate suffers from exactly the same symptoms and has from I bought the car with 7000 miles on the clock. Now has 21000. Going in next week for clutch removal and diagnosis. I think it is disgraceful that cars of this age/mileage should suffer from this problem.
