Thank you Colin. Can the error codes be diagnosed by any garage or do I need a Nissan dealership? The Nissan dealership that is close to me only has availability in 3 weeks (!)

Any garage might be able to download the codes...depends on what Code Scanner they have. Not the cheap DIY type for sure. However, translating the codes to positive faults can be problem for them.

If its a purely mechanical braking fault they might possibly fix it. Checking brakes for correct operation is a good start. For instance does ABS actually work using the foot pedal.

Another somewhat common fault is the G sensor. Small electro/mechanical device in the centre of the car that measures G-force (directional acceleration) and enables the ABS to adjust wheel speeds to stabilise the car.

After that it has to be Nissan.

Thank you Colin. I managed to get an earlier appointment on Tuesday with Nissan. I will update the forum once there is a resolution.

ok Nishal. Hope its a fairly simple problem. Whatever it is has put you car in limp (home) mode and throw scary fault lights up. But thats what they do.

All the best

I’m having the same! Last week I got in the car and nothing would start, has the battery replaced and all has been fine except the fuel economy has gone down and is shockingly bad! Today I’ve gone in the car and got the chassis system fault light on (after the stop start and battery light which then went and revealed the amber warning light)

It’s booked for a service tomorrow too but hoping the mechanic will now be able to look at the fault. I’m wondering if it’s to do with a blacked pipe too as we haven’t used it for a long run for a while!

Did you check for exhaust pressure sensor pipe blockage?

Without the diagnostic error codes (DTCs) retrieved from the cars ECU anything advised here is guesswork. However, I think we may know from earlier posts that Stop/Start and chassis control may be linked to battery problems...its still a guess though.

I did a quick and easy check on mine. I removed the sensor, 5 minute job and started the car, no exhaust gasses were coming out of the exposed pipe, so blocked and causing the error. Took me another 30 min to clear the blockage in the pipe with some oven cleaner and an old push bike brake cable as it's the perfect size to shove down the hole, once clear started the engine to confirm gasses were flowing, refitted the sensor and after, boom, multiple errors cleared and been fine for the last 5k miles.
Definately worth the simple investigation imo, as its a real DIYers fix
