Hi all ! New to the forum and this is my first post so apologise of this question has been asked before .
I’ve just bought a cambelt kit and pins to change the belt as I’ve hit the 75,000 mark but after following instructions I’ve come across a bit of a problem, once all the parts have been removed I.e top engine mounts cam cover etc I’ve found there is a metal plate that goes between the cam belt itself which is part of the engine mounting and there’s no way of getting it out with the space you’ve got which means I’m a little stuck ? I can’t find any Info on this and I’m unable to change the belt with this part of the engine mount in the way.
Surely it’s not an engine out job ? I’m wondering if you need to move the engine over to remove this part or there’s a particular way of getting it out ? Tia
