2017 1.5 DCi Tekna
Under normal acceleration my QQ has a kind of 'sporty' sound to it. Not sure if it is supposed to sound like that? At first I thought it might be an exhaust blow in the engine bay. But if I have the bonnet open and press the accelerator I can't hear it. Don't get me wrong, it's not annoying, or loud, but it does sound 'throaty' or 'sporty', I can't think of a better description. I don't hear anything when the car is cruising.
Thanks for any insights.

Sometimes the air filter box vibrates a little under acceleration - a known fault, and NIssan usually screw in an extra screw to support it.

There is nothing sporty in a QQ, so I guess something has worn or broken. Maybe the air pipe from the turbo has a small air leak?

My 2014 Dci had the same issue and even louder at idle. It was diagnosed as the air filter box shaking itself loose. Some extra wide double sided tape and some steel cable ties sorted the problem however I still have a slight growl when accelerating.#

Given that the DCI engine at 50mph is only doing around 1,500 rpm, to get 70+mpg, the low revving engine vibrations cannot be good for the rest of the engine bay.
