Hello all,
I have had battery problems on my Qashqai N Tec 1.5 diesel for a few weeks, completely flat on a couple of occasions and stop/start not working.
I have decided to replace it, the current factory fitted battery is the following spec 12V - L3 EFB 70Ah 720A. The replacement that a mechanic has sourced is only 650A, should I have this fitted even though it is lower Amps. Any advice appreciated. Cheers
Is 650A battery sufficient

The 720A and 650A refer to cold crank current (amps) deliverable (at 7.5volts) to the starter motor at freezing point. Theoretically the higher the better. I note most major battery suppliers (Yaesu, Varta, Bosch) specify 650A for the battery in the Qashqai in the Europe region. Start/Stop batteries apparently?
I use a Bosch S5 (610A) for two cars I have..not a problem as long as I keep a fairly regular eye on the battery condition. In winter that is.
Also the size and terminal positions need to be the same as original...that Fiamm thingy.
The guarantees are about 2 or 3 years I think?
Ask your battery fitter if he can check the charging performance of your car...just to be sure that your charging system is not slowly killing the battery.

If of a different capacity to OEM battery you'll need dealer to recode the BCM with this battery's data so that
charging output is correct.

How much is he charging you? Nissan can be competitive.
