Bought a qashqui trade so no comeback not happy when it arrived engine knocking on further investigation it seems like the oil pump pipe has broke and the engine run dry result is been told i need a complete engine but with what i have already paid for the car and a reconed engine and fitting would be adding another £2000 + to the car just not feasible been told the code for these engines is MR9 and that they are Renault engines looking at the renault laguna 2.0 dci cars it would be cheaper to buy a laguna running and remove the engine but also been told even though the engines are M9R it will not fit has it is different on the bottom/sump so if possible what i would like to know could sumps be swapped over or anything like that or can i only look for a engine that has come out of a quashqai 2.0 dci 4x4 it is on a 59 plate.
Any help advice would be very much appreciated.

Not sure if this is another option for you, but I'm sure the MR9 engine was in the T31 X-Trail, but that particular engine had an issue with stretched timing chains that caused knocking, can't remember if it was a recall issue or not.
So, if the X-Trail engine does fit make sure you check it out for knocking, provided you can.

Yes the MR9 engine was fitted to the x trail but a used one is just has hard to find and has expensive has buying one from a qashqui they are also in lots of other vehicles thats what i really want to know could buy a full car laguna 2.0 dci at the right money but my qashqui is AWD and been told if the MR9 engine has come from a none 4x4 it will not do been told different on the bottom but both are MR9 renault engines if anybody knows one way or another for definite that would be great.Weasel wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 4:06 pm Not sure if this is another option for you, but I'm sure the MR9 engine was in the T31 X-Trail, but that particular engine had an issue with stretched timing chains that caused knocking, can't remember if it was a recall issue or not.

The MR9R engine was also used in Vauxhall Vivaro. Could always try these https://reconmyengine.com/vauxhall-reco ... gLev_D_BwE I have no tie with them, just did a google search.
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.
