Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

We took delivery of our Qashqai 1.6 DIG-T Tekna September 2017 and have since completed the grand total mileage of 14100, (which is spread about equally between both my wife and myself)….

The clutch began what appeared to be starting to slip, we therefore booked the car into our local Nissan dealer for investigation... Following this investigation we were told the Clutch has burnt out and needed replacing at the cost of up to £1900.
My wife and myself both experience drivers with over 40 years driving experience each, were also told that our driving style is the probable cause of the excessive clutch wear on our Qashqai.....I hasten to add neither of us have ever experienced Clutch problems on cars we have previously driven...

On visiting the forum I see a number of you have also experience Clutch problems, I'm hoping a number of you have had the Clutch's replaced under warranty or FOC I would be interested in knowing....

At 14k miles that would take some deliberate doing? And the replacement price is seriously OTT I'd say.

I have the same age car more or less but an N-Connecta at 11.5K

I have a 1.5dci March '17 n-connecta on 35,000 miles and the clutch is absolutely fine.
I suspect yours was dodgy from the beginning.
Good Luck

Hi Des,
I was quoted a similar price after my clutch pedal went heavy. My leg has got stronger so I'm currently living with it.

But I did shop around some independent clutch specialists and got some quotes in the £400-£500 ballpark for replacing the clutch + slave cylinder.

So it's not as bad as it looks if you get no joy under the warranty etc.

Hi Des, Hi I am new to the forum and wondered how things worked out for you? My friend has a 2017 Qashqai and has just completed 18000mls but is experiencing clutch judder problems. Like yourself he has driven for many years, owned a number of vehicles and never had a clutch replaced on any of his vehicles! The judder first appeared at approximately 12000mls and at 16000mls he asked his Nissan dealer to investigate. They said that they would 'recalibrate' the clutch but obviously this hasn't cured the problem. He has now been told that he may need to pay approximately £500 to have the problem investigated (gearbox removed). He has taken this issue up with Nissan directly and they at present seem to be supportive. Question is - has anyone else on the forum any knowledge of similar clutch issues? Thanks, Mark B

Many thanks RVW - very interesting and informative. So it appears that clutch judder problems are not unheard of but that dealer and Nissans response can be inconsistent. I will share this information with my friend and suggest he takes this matter up with Nissan/Lex UK. Thanks again!
