If thats a braking failure due to linkage decoupling to master cylinder then it is a major safety issue..and they know about it? Its what called a safety critical system and must not fail like that.

It was the clutch pedal. The brakes still worked.

I think they said the connection had failed in the cabin? I agree it's still a safety related fault, on a car that's 10 - 11 months old. I wonder if I should speak to Nissan?!

Sorry..I lost the thread context.

The design and installation/parts should be safe along with QC. Or somebody had a play around between production and sale?

I've sent the car in 4 times because the clutch felt, and still does, not seem right. It had a new slave cylinder fitted a few weeks ago, so who knows what has been adjusted / touched during the various visits?!

Sorry to hear that. Mine is going back to the dealer because I insisted on the clutch or clutch pedal, let's see what happens now.

Mine is getting a new master cylinder as well Next week. Did tours get it?

BTW, a couple of weeks back the bleed the oil circuit (in case there was some air) but didn't solve. During that time they offered me a QQ 1.3 petrol and the clutch was smoother but had also the strange clutch pedal feeling. Better than mine but not 100% good.

I'm aware of another owner that had similar problems, on his case they replaced master cylinder, problem didn't change, then replaced clutch and flywheel and everything was gone.

Hi,

The master cylinder change in fact made the problem worse!! Also now, the clutch bites very high up.

I sort of have in my mind that it could be the clutch itself.... they replaced the gearbox a few months ago but I don't expect they considered changing the clutch, despite my insistence that it didn't feel right.

I am in negotiations now with senior staff at the dealership about whether they are able to fix it or whether we look at other options.

Depending how the discussion goes I will ask if they have considered the clutch plate and flywheel.

Thanks!
Tim

I belieber this is the clutch just like you. I dont belieber mster cylinder Will solve but they recommend its substitution so let it happen. I heard there are some Renault with faulty clutches and already heard cases of Nissan too. Lets ser what happens
