I note the misunderstanding of owners visiting this site with DPF....arisings? So:
I didn't want to expose forum members to too much of our Australian Automotive correspondent..although I find his critique widely coincident with mine.
Here is the DPF story pretty much in full with an emphasise on causation....various. DPF's can fail but its the causes that need to be understood. I would hope mechanics get this...otherwise DPF clinics(?) will massively boom and due to rework.
This is an aide memoire if anything for that heart wrenching visit to a Nissan dealer. Stick it on your phone.
This is an expensive game and often requires defibrillators in the Service waiting area. I suppose with the demise of diesels this will go away, although a whole bunch of electronics will replace it...cost wise.
