Wont go into 6th gear. All other gears fine

Help please!?

I have a 2010 Qashqai+2 1.5DCi Acenta

Driving along Motorway on Saturday in 6th gear and it pops out of gear. Since then I can now longer go back into 6th gear.
However
All other gears operate smoothly with no issue and I'm having to currently drive slower on Motorway in 5th gear.

Can anyone tell me what this may be. It has developed almost like a tinging / rattling noise but again which doesnt effect the drive

I had seen this post and will go through it again. However not sure I'm even able to get it into 6th!
Is it anything to do with linkage?

Hasty, could well be the Linkage as there are loads of Ads for these on the web. IMHO I would look around for a “Gearbox Specialist” near you or give them a call and ask for some advice. Of course you could also ask your local Nissan Dealer, atleast then you know where you are regarding cost and downtime - Dave

Difficult to say but bearings/syncros threaten at that age. If its rattling/tinging in neutral its not linkage. I suspect an inspection of the oil plug is in order...for debris.

Hello, I have Nissan qashqai + 2 semi automatic and I'm also facing the same issue 4 a month now. On automatic I don't feels that the car is getting into the 6th gear at high speeds while on motorway. While driving in manual I can't get into 6th gear at all. Any experts kindly throw some light. Thanks

2009 manual diesel, needed a gearbox refurb when this happened to me. Basic cost was £850. It ran perfectly after.

It had 110K on the clock when it happened. No prior symptoms.
