I have a 2007 1.6 Nissan Qashqai. I was struggling to get into just the reverse gear and after some investigation after opening the gear stick unit, i found that issue maybe related to this piece attached below. Now my question is after removing this piece, I can now comfortably get into gears and into reverse. The question I have is, will this impact the way I drive or cause any issues? Also do you think the piece needs replacing to put it back to the state it was previously? Or could it be fact it may just need to be added back in the correct manner, although I have tried this and still cant get reverse to work.
