No update for the 1.6 only for the 1.5 k9k so indeed you need to get the right filter

Not having much luck with filters,
Just took the one off the car and its ufi 24 095 00
Does anyone know eurocar parts number or if the 2406101 is an equivalent as it looks exactly the same?

had a quick look online for you and eurocarparts only do the 2406101, ebay have the 2409500 around £35 (ebay item number 362907464971), they both look the same and the sizes are all the same, i don`t think you`ll go wrong with the black top filter. i don`t think eurocarparts will have the incorrect filter back that you had got from them if you have installed in on the car all ready as it used now and they won`t be able to sell it again :(

Am I allowed to reply to this tread as I have had the same problem? The Euro Car parts filter I have has a white top and the water light is on. Old UFI one had a black top. I have drained the filter and no sign of water. Engine is k9k(1.5).

I am tempted to take out the sensor of the new one and switch it for the old one as attached. Would that be OK? It is the filter cartridge that degrades and not the sensors, I assume. Thus using the old sensor etc should be OK as long as it fits.

The two rods are presumably the water sensor and are connected to the group of 3 terminals.. Anyone know what the metal "sandwich in the middle connected to the 2 terminals does? See pics.

I have frequently found EuroCarParts supply the wrong items. Surely if you give them your car reg it should mostly get the parts right?

did you have a problem with the UFI filter you took out ? or was it once you put a white to filter in. the diffrence between white top and black top is 1 has a water sensor and one don`t. so you should be getting the same filter as you took out the car a black top one.

It was fine till I changed it at 60k miles. The fuel tipped out of the old filter did contain some dirt. But no warning lights.

It is too late to get the filter exchanged at EuroCarParts. Instead of going out to buy the new correct one I was just hoping I could exchange the bit in my pictures from old to new. Visually it looks the same on the outside.. Not tried yet to remove it from the new filter.

I tried the plug in the old filter sensor mounted loose and the car started and ran fine with no warning lights. I then put that old sensor into the new cartridge and it was also fine so am going to leave it like that.

Apart for the different colour cover the only visual difference between the two sensor assemblies is that the new one has no plastic spacer inserted between the 2 metal plates in the middle of the sensor. Also, based on continuity readings on its 3 pins, there is not a lot connected to those pins. So perhaps it has the plates/rods in place for a water sensor but no electronics to read them.

Just an update. Been on lots of trips and this swapping of the sensors over has been successful.
