Hi all,

I need a bit of advice on a problem.

I had a flat battery on my Qashqai. It cranked for 2-3 seconds before giving up. I went and grabbed a known good battery I had and used it with a set of jump cables but now the car refuses to crank at all. No clicking from the starter or dimming of lights. I have dash lights and everything else works as it should.
Any advise on where I should start looking. The key still locks and unlocks the car with the remote.

Probably the Batt quality (charge capacity) and the jump cables...first.

The battery I used was much larger than on the car and known good, just charged. With a good set of heavy jump cables. The car doesn't even attempt to crank. Normally I would expect dash light to dim or something. You turn the key and get the dash lights up, turn the key to start position and nothing, no change at all.

Isolate the original flat Battery from starting process. Try this:

Disconnect +ve cable from flat Battery. Connect the jump lead +ve to +ve car cable clamp. Jump lead -ve connected to car ground as normal. Take great care here.
