The front brake pads are new and gave a hard stop test they didn't fail me. the rear pads aren't that new. I don't remember when I changed them.
Probably around 55k KM (since its almost hitting 59k KM)

Press the brake pedal and see if your brake lights come on....shift lock is not a pads issue.

While the engine is on or off?
engine and/or ignition on. Power is needed for stop lights
Usually you can actually hear the interlock solenoid or shift lock solenoid when you press the brake pedal from the drivers seat with just the ignition on and the engine off, they arent a quiet solenoid and you can also feel it through the shifter.
Yes I did hear them this morning. I went down to the car and I could hear the interlock selonoid and I was able to move the shifter the normal way. I didn't move the car so I don't know if I'll be able to hear it again once I go for a drive this afternoon. I'll keep this comment update with the result
I went out today, didn't have any issue with the shifter but a warning light poped up an orange (!) and sometime when I put the ebrake on it blinks and sometimes it doesn't

Has the car stopped completely before you pull the parking brake up?
