Friends

As there is still so little to read about this new engine, I was very reluctant when I was about to buy the new Qashqai. In the end, it was a setback in terms of power and would the car still be as lively as I was used to?
I read a lot about the engine and asked for information. On paper, it is as powerful at 240 Nm as the old 1.6DIG-T. But what does that mean in practice?

As a comparison:

1.2 116 190Nm
1.3 140 240Nm
1.3 160 260Nm
1.6 163,240Nm

That's why I made this video in which I try to convey real practical experience.
I hope it will be able to help others.

Great video, thanks.

My thoughts if anyone's going from the 1.2 to the 1.3 - you'll love it!

Lapalmeraie,Thanks for this next YouTube video and I have just read that you have stated :
“As there is still so little to read about this new engine, I was very reluctant when I was about to buy the new Qashqai. In the end, it was a setback in terms of power and would the car still be as lively as I was used to?”

Did you not read this Nissan Publication from 10.2018 on the 1,3L & DCT which is what I used before ordering ours in late 2019, IMHO it is well worth a read - Regards Dave 😊

Dave...I hope Nissan don't get screwed regarding cylinder coating as BMW did quite some years back...Nikasil

Tesco actually:
"It was discovered that ‘cheap’ supermarket fuel contained high sulphur levels, found in particular to be present in the North-West of the United Kingdom.--

Colin, if anything happens let’s hope it is within the Nissan Guarantee period. Regarding your BMW comments I believe these were Nickel Liners which were replaced or changed in some cases to Iron Liners.

Now let’s give Nissan some credit as it seems to be a good idea and is at present working and even MB have their noses in it. It is naturally a Cost Saving Method and is also used by other manufacturers. Now this is not a Liner this is a Thermal Spray Surface “Plasma Coating” which Produces a Layer 0,20mm thick bonded to the Cylinder Block Holes by Heat.

Here are a couple of short comments and some attachments which might be of interest - Dave 😉 🙏
