I see many people have had similar issues but i have not found anything definitive. I have a 1.5 dci 2015. When cold started it will fire (sometimes cut out) but run lumpy for up to around 5 mins, after this is the car is faultless, you need to leave the car around 12 hrs before it would do this again, have tried heater plugs air flow meter, egr valve, fuel filter and tested various other sensors. No faults are stored in the ECU. has anyone actually got to the bottom of this?
Any help appreciated.

Hi, Ive had some bad starting the past three days, -4,5c this morning started quicker, I re fueled last night, I have a new fuel filter coming Monday so I will replace that and the air filter, never had a problem even at -1c, a colleague at work said his wife's Qashqai dci is the same. I did the oil change in November so less than 1k on this oil. Once it starts its fine all day even -3c.

Diesel fuel is formulated differently in winter to counteract waxing issues in below zero temperatures. It may help if you buy fuel from a filling station with plenty of diesel customers so there is less residual summer grade. It would also be worth trying to wait for twenty seconds after switching on to give more time for heaters to get the combustion chamber hot. Of course this could just be old-school stuff that doesn't apply to modern Nissans.

Hi, the station i use is very busy , near the motorway entrance (shell), I wait till the glow light turns of, not sure if it still carries on heating if the ignition is left on?, car only has 49k on it, It would be annoying if glow plugs were needed this early, I will change filters and try a new station on next fill up.

Hi Just to update, the sensor that comes with the full filter does not work with the car, also the fuel lines sit higher for some reason and press against the steel guard, possibly the Nissan sensor is coded or slightly different design, I swapped sensors over and after a few turns it started, also the lines sat as they did before with clearance, not a big loss as I still saved a tenner and a trip to Nissan but it will be just the filter bowel next time. A quick 3 mile drive and all is well.
Just the brake fluid left in the summer and thats it till next oil change.

Was the filter the same as what was in the car before ??
I've always had this one fitted in my 2016 qq

Hope you managed to get the air bubbles out the fuel lines ok ;)

Hi Andy, yes it was a black top, however the fuel lines didn't sit clear with it, I left it in position in the clamp swapped them over and it had plenty of clearance, I put the new one in and turned ignition on 5 times till the fuel pump turned off, on the 3rd one I heard the gurgling of the air being expelled, after the fifth I tried 3 times to start it and no go, put the original sensor in and it started on second try.
I may be imagining it but the car feels smoother now after air and fuel filter change, I'm not bothered really as Nissan only change the filter part anyway, its all the did last time on my free major service as I marked all the parts. My version has no drain on it.

Hi, more info, I've spoken to Chorley Nissan this morning and they informed me the part although not coded will be different programming inside the sensor and this is why it would not work, but worked when the old sensor was put back in the new filter, the filter has to use an genuine Nissan fuel sensor.
