Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

Post by AdrianI »

Dear all,

Planning to buy a new car and was impressed by the driving experience of the epower. Nevertheless, I saw also on this forum numerous problems with the epower system, generator faults and numerous other electrical problems.

The dealer told me that those problems (of the 2022-2024 versions) have been fixed with the new 2024-25 facelift version. Anyone here has the new version and has experienced problems with the epower version?

Hello I have exactly the same concerns before I sign my purchase order ... Crossing fingers is not an option for a car above € 40,000.

Similarly to baggieBoy my Octobe 2023 Techna e-power has behaved faultlessly. I should add that recorded mileage is 4800.

Not heard of any issues with the epower for a long while. Early issues seem to be sorted now.

My new epower facelift nconnecta delivered early December has had some issues.Firstly after only 2 days the passenger door wont open from inside then 2days ago the car would,nt start pressed power button -no sign of life .Called out RAC who confirmed a flat battery also he spotted a nail in my drivers side tyre which had to be replaced. Booked in to dealership to investigate problems. These faults aside the car drives great.

Sounds like the biggest issue with new models is flat or low charged 12v batteries at point of delivery.
Nissan /dealers should easily be able to sort that…it’s not rocket science…check the battery the day before the car is collected & epithet put it on charge or replace it…Simples.

Doors not opening could be multiple things, I had a Juke where the rear doors wouldn’t open from the inside, turned out to be a bent pin in a connector block & that part of the wiring loom need replacing (under warranty)

Issue with older epowers now seems to be the brake “shims” & possibly discs.

Like the OP, I came to this forum as I was considering purchasing a Qashqai epower. Having read all the issues that still seem to be arising with batteries and electrics, the Qashqai has moved a long way down my list, and may have even dropped right off it.

There are a few issues with cars not starting and battery seemingly flat. Nissan are aware and my dealer said about 1k cars impacted of which mine is one. So far have had to jump it twice in a week I bought a power pack for this very fact. I’ve seen people saying it’s an issue with a combi meter…..whatever that is.
