Hi,
After reading miles of forums of squeaking seats.
I did not really find a cure of the problem. More than spraying some lube here and there.
Some posts caught my attention more than others.
They had their cars in for service, and the lower seatframe got welded, but not more info than that.
Another forum poster Duncho showed in a youtube video how to lubricate a support tube in the front, under the seat. And also suggested that the rivets on the pivoting area could be welded.
This was also information that i trigged on.
These four pivoting areas that have rivets in place.
In my seat its the actual rivets that pivots, and that seems wrong. And that is also what you see in Dunchos Youtube movie.
So this afternoon i took the driver seat out. And started to weld. I welded the tube in the front of the seat frame, all four rivets. And also the tube in the back of the seat. I also took the opportunity to spray som chain lube (very thin in the beginning, then thickening) in the pivoting places.
Put the seat back, and it feels more rigid. And now definately quite. I hope this will last for a while now..

If I remember correctly, some people (who suffered squeaking when the car was in warranty) had replacement seats fitted by Nissan

Hi,
Yes i have read some of those posts as well.

OK, hadn’t heard that.
I've never suffered from this problem, despite being what might politely be termed "a big bloke" although never more than 105kg

Hi,
My seat sqeaked loudly over bumps.
And i could also induce the sqeak by pushing the seat back with my feets.
I really don know how cracked metal would sound.
But perhaps its something similar.
