Beeping?

The car beeps continuously (just like old Casio watches) when I'm trying to leave the car. Engine has just been turned off, windows are closed, key is in my pocket.. Never thought of asking here or the service, since it's like this from day one You shut the door, open it back, no beeping.

What's the purpose of this and can it be turned off?

It only beeps like that when you turn off the car but have the door open beforehand.

I think I'm doing that: I always park the car, keep it running up to a minute while taking my coat, backpack or similar stuff and then press the start/stop button to turn off the engine.
