Hello, after a rather unfortunate 11 hour wait for the AA to repair a flat tyre on the weekend (the rubbish tyre gunk didn't stand a chance) I'm going to get a space saver to avoid having to suffer through that again.
We have a 2019 Tekna so have the Bose sub fitted within the boot tyrewell, I've seen several topics on here in regards to refitting the sub within a 17" space wheel turned upside down. That appears to be my best bet if we want to keep the sub and also maximise boot space, "the wheel shop" sell a "17" Space saver wheel + tool kit compatible with Nissan Qashqai 2007 - Present day" for £169.95 which seems reasonable.
I've spoken with them and they said whilst the 17" is absolutely fine for the car they also sell a 19" space saver if preferred. The 19 is actually smaller than the 17 overall in terms of both diameter and depth, giving back a tiny bit of extra boot space with the liner back on. I just wanted to see if anyone had tried with the 19 before I just go with the tried and tested 17, my fear is the sub will just fall through into the rim of the 19 rather than sitting nicely in the 17 as shown in many pictures on this forum.

If anyone comes across this, I went for for the 17" in the end and it's perfect.
There's more than enough space to insert and remove it from the wheel well, the bose fits perfectly in the upside down wheel as expected but a pleasant surprise was I've lost absolutely 0% boot space. I'm still able to set up the boot floor in any configuration, either with the false floor or with the floor panels tucked under - the wheel and sub is slightly lower than the surrounding foam inserts which explains why there's no issue.
I'll probably get a cable protector sleeve for the sub as other posters have suggested and have placed a piece of underlay flooring between the sub and the wheel for a bit of cushioning (I'll tidy it up at some point). I've attached some pictures, hopefully this helps others make a decision.

I don't recall hearing about a 19" spacesaver wheel for the Qashqai before.
