Hi,

I reversed the car off the drive then engaged 1st gear to pull away. I then got neutral ok but when I went to get 1st again, the pedal just went to the floor. No hint of any problems before that. I can't see any leaking fluid.

Has anyone else had this and got any ideas what it could be and how to diagnose it?

Thank you.

Has the pedal become detached from the linkage? Ours did this, and the mechanic said its sort of a known thing.

Clipped it back in, in the footwell, and did something to try and prevent it happening again.

Thanks for that. The connection to the peddle is good.

I have noticed the reservoir is empty. The brakes are ok. I have a leak somewhere. I've had no warning lights and haven't seen any fluid under the car.

When the weather improves I'll take the plastic cover off underneath the engine and see if I can see a leak.

Could you get an internal leak in the system?
