Hi, I have Qashqai (2015 - Diesel) and noticed fuel capacity has changed. Earlier I filled up 55L and now it hold only 50L. Didn;t noticed any change on mileage per gallon so not sure why it;s impacted. Only thing, car just came from repair related to few dents on passenger side but garage hasn;t touched anything on fuel tank. Any idea what;s wrong with fuel capacity

Thanks. I was suspecting on left fuel before go for full tank but this time, there were only couple of litres left (based on remaining mileage), I thought to go for full tank and guess, it only hold 50 L and not 55L. Is there any reason why capcacity reduced suddenly?

no. In car it was only couple of litres (even 5 litres) then I was able to fill only 45 which makes me think, fuel capacity reduced. any clue what I need to do before I go for another garage

Wouldn't worry about it as your never really gonna know how much fuel you got left in tank before you fill it up again

Forgive me if I have inadvertently got the wrong end of the stick, but here’s my take

You cannot judge the amount of fuel remaining in the car purely on the “miles to empty” figure.
If you have just done a very short drive in heavy winter traffic, your mpg could be low (10 - 15mpg ) which would fool you into believing you have fewer litres in the car than you physically have in the tank. Conversely a long economical summer trip at constant speed could be high (40 - 45mpg) misleading you in the opposite direction.

It would be interesting to hear what your fuel gauge says.

Welcome to this forum.

Does it really matter?

Check another one or twice and see what the situation is.
