Interior lights.

Picked up my new Tekna a couple of days ago.
Having difficulty removing the cover from the front interior light. On all my previous Qashqai I’ve been able to lever the cover off by fingers alone. Even using a plastic trim removal tool I can’t get it to release the cover. I’m a bit worried about breaking it if I put too much pressure on it. Has anybody else had difficulty in removing the cover.
As a aside I notice that the vanity mirror lights are nowabove the flap. Much easier to change the bulbs. I can’t find anything on the net about this repositioning.

Wishing to change the two interior courtesy lights over the rear doors to LED. If I’m reading it right themanual says this is a Nissan dealer job.is there something particularly difficult about it?
Also, when looking at it the bulb does not appear to be a festoon bulb like previous models.
Can’t find a video on You Tube for this job on a J12.

On the j11 qashqai you just pull the whole light unit out.

Thanks Andy. I did that on my previous Qashqais no problem. The J12 lights over the doors are completely different. Tried prising one of them out but seemed to be separating the facia from unit so i stopped. Can’t find find a J12 video on YouTube (plenty on J11).Need someone with J12 who’s done it to come along.

Thank for that Andy, quite a find. Why do they make it so difficult with a likely chance of damaging it. Must have taken him something like 12 to 15 minutes for what used to take 15 seconds on earlier model.
Need to find one now for the rear lights.

Guess they didnt want to damage the new car too much thats why it took them ages. Are the rear ones the same shape as what the j11 had.

The rear ones are more slimline and oval. Seem more flimsy. Probably why it’s a dealer job.
