Thanks but it's definitely urea crystals that have formed, they have quite an oily texture. I've been topping up from the adblue dispenser at my local petrol station.

After smelling a strong odour of Ammonia I opened up the bonnet to find it looks like Adblue has been leaking into the engine compartment, based on the crystalline build up witnessed. My local trusted garage has referred me on to a diesel engine specialist. Any thoughts on what could be causing the issue? This is the first car requiring AdBlue I've owned.

I've taken it to the specialist diesel garage as recommended. There was a pin-hole in the adblue line from the tank to the exhaust caused by rubbing another part. The line needs replaced but requires strip down to get access. Around £800 inc VAT.
