Went to the bodyshop last Monday, Diferent alignment , machine. Otherwise after a bit of fishing around and the timing of new tyres and the flat batter. I'm certain the Steering angle needs resetting. My OBD reader doesnt pick any fault codes...So my service is for Jan 12th.

Mate is yours still having this issue
Mine is booked in for a service on the 12th. Have sent an email to customer service to enquire whether the j11 can have an electronic reset?

It can be reset, that is when you reset the steering angle sensor, older cars with skinny used to rely on the camber of the wheel alignment to pull the steering wheels to the straight ahead position from full lock, but now a days tyres are wider and cannot be set with such a camber as it would cause one of the edges of the tyre to go bald. So they use the electronic steering pump and rack to electronically turn the steering wheel back to the centre (give or take a few degrees) the steering angle sensor is also used for the car to know where the steering wheel is for stuff like forward collision system ect. So as long as you have set the steering alignment correctly and then get the steering angle sensor re-set you should be ok, I've just been through all of this with my car, in the end I got pally with a steering alignment manufacturer and they set my car up and its bang on, as Nissan dealer had set it up incorrectly ( in fact the steering alignment manufacturer was shocked by how the dealer had set it up, he said I'd of only got 5-6 thousand miles out of my new set of tyres so I'm glad I went!) hope that helps!?

Right just back from dealer went out for a drive with one of the supposed technicians who agreed it's off centre (No shit) he dismissed the sensor idea and said it's the wheel alignment AGAIN!!! Well they had made minor adjustments AGAIN and guess what the steering wheel is doing the same thing but this time to the RIGHT!!!
Im really pissed off now its a 60 mile round trip each time and can only make it Saturdays and am wondering if the staff Saturday are not up to much.

But why should i it was listed under warranty issue and has not been sorted. I have also PAID for a wheel alignment £55 ???? which again i shouldnt be if its a warranty issue not as if the £55 has sorted it it hasnt!!

Ive paid too, Have heard on many sites that a steering angle reset is almost mandatory after a wheel alignment. Sure the more of us inform Nissan there might be an answer?Love the car though.

Yes agreed from what i can make out any adjustment made via a wheel alignment no matter how minor or major, a sensor reset MUST be made... its just annoying that nowadays you got to REALLY raise hell just to get a job done properly. Ive not been too impressed with my car sadly but if these lil niggles get sorted then perhaps i can start to enjoy the car and not keep worrying what's likely to go wrong next.

The guy that set my car up used the old laser set up and I asked him why he doesn't use the new hunter system with a disk on each wheel, his reply was that they arnt that accurate, and it all depends on the guy adjusting the car, they need to know what there doing. Even tho the company he works for sell the new style steering alignment equipment.

Did they reset the angle sensor too mate? I'm just in a muddle what to do keep going back to Nissan or ask for my money back and try someone else? Thing is who do you trust. No idea where else to go if Nissan can't sort it
