My 65 plate tekna seems to have quite a bit of movement in the gear stick when i accelerate and decelerate, is this normal on these cars, as my other cars didn't do this, only picked car up yesterday with 11k on it..cheers..

Try using the "Search" Facility for example enter "Gear Stick Problems" you might well find something there, but there is a lot to read - Dave ;)

Also worth a mention that the search defaults to posts in the last 7 days
worth extending the period to capture more info

I also bought, last August, a 1.6 Dig t Tekna ( reg Oct 15/ ,65plate) and it had 11000 miles on the clock.
The car had been first owned by Nissan and was immaculate as one would expect for a 10
month old car. I have not found any extra play in the gear stick and it is very much the same as my
previous N tec ( 2011 model) which had 27000 miles on the clock when part exchanged.

Mine is a 65 plate tekna with just over 11k on the clock so same as yours but i am finding a lot of play in the gearstick, i took it back but they said its normal, but none of my others cars done this, focus, zafira tourer, audi a4.. also i am not liking the sound when i change gear, for a nearly new car you expect it to be a smooth gear change, its far from it, dont know what to do..

How much play are you talking about?
Can you measure it or post a quick video?
