I have issues with my navigation system whereby it doesn't ever seem to take me on sensible routes, irrespective of whether I set it to the fastest or shortest route.
e.g. travelling up to York from Hertford over the weekend, it wanted to take me up the M1 instead of the quicker route up the A1, with the M1 route adding an hour to the journey, although I'd set it to give me the fastest route. I'm wondering if things would be different if I upgraded it, but I don't know what version I have in the car. I've attached images of the SD card. I only got the car in June. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Perhaps there was congestion on the A1 so it sent you up the M1 instead? According to bing maps the M1 route is only 15 mins longer.
2015 1.6 dci Tekna, AWD.
We left at 0500, so there wasn't any congestion (well not according to Google maps). That was just an example of what it does, but I've had similar experiences on other routes.switchback wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2017 4:20 pm Perhaps there was congestion on the A1 so it sent you up the M1 instead? Although it always gets me where I want to go, I must admit my QQ's satnav takes some dubious routes sometimes. For long journeys I tend to look at the route beforehand on Google Maps if possible, then look at the route the QQ has planned and judge what's the best approach. Sometimes I temporarily "block" motorways on the QQ so that it takes me on the route I'd prefer. An inconvenience I'm afraid, but hopefully one that won't spoil your enjoyment of the QQ.

May I ask how that works then in terms of you blocking out motorways and what routes you end up using with the satnav?Hound wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2017 11:29 am Although it always gets me where I want to go, I must admit my QQ's satnav takes some dubious routes sometimes. 1) Press SETUP
2) Select NAVIGATION
3) In Navigation Setup, select ROUTE OPTIONS
4) Turn on MINIMISE MOTORWAYS
I've found this makes A-roads (or B-roads) take preference to motorways when creating a route, if I don't want to take the motorway (especially the M6 or M1). It can be changed whenever you want and the system will recalculate.
