The problem with the Nissan J11A Diesel QQ's was mentioned earlier in the year and this new information could be more bad news for Owners. This new information does mention the 1,6dCi QQ J11B and the Juke 1,5dCi. Both these engines appear to be the R9M & K9K produced by Renault / Nissan Alliance - Dave ;)

All this negativity against diesel QQs is headline news, but thats all it is, 'headlines'.
Nobody can deny that the majority of cars on the roads 'more than probably' emit all sorts of emissions during 'real world driving' yet manage to pass the current regulation emissions tests conducted in laboratories.
Given laboratory figures even some petrol QQs produce NOx figures higher than their diesel brethren. I haven't seen any reports yet highlighting these high discrepancies for petrol QQs, instead all the emphasis is aimed at purely the diesels.
The problems here are the actual way these standards and limits are checked, along with political gain, medical science and public opinion.
10 years ago it was all about particulates, now its all about NOx, a few more years and we will be told its something else. There seems to be a total lack of balance.

This might be of interest for you, it appears difficult to find any data on "Real" life tests. Here are some facts as a comparison between Diesel and Petrol QQ's which I think gvmdaddy has posted before. I found this other writeup interesting regarding "are diesel cars more polluting than petrol cars" - Dave :)
