Aircon Condenser replaced under warranty
Hey there, J11 QQ 2015 leaking condenser replaced today under warranty after aircon was not getting cold following a re-gas a few month’s ago. Apparently widespread issues with all manufacturers as a result of the new type of refrigerant being used in aircon systems. My advice would be to get yours checked before your warranty runs out. Lots of previous posts regarding this issue. The cost of the repair was £517 from Nissan main dealer, so will be costly if not paid for by Nissan under warranty. Nevertheless, still really happy with the car despite the common faults, e.g sensor fault, creaking steering wheel, that they haven’t issued a recall notice for, yet. Hope this helps

Compressor or condenser?
2015 1.6 dci Tekna, AWD.
Does the new gas have the dye that shows up under ultra violet light? My J10 had a leak and when I bought a cheap ultraviolet pen light to have a look, there were green stains everywhere.
Just wondering as you say get it checked out - how?

IMHO if anybody notices a change in their QQ‘s Air Con Function I would recommend to get it checked out ASAP by a Nissan Dealer as this Problem has been widely reported on the Forum and it will cost you to get it done when out of the „Guarantee“ period - Dave

I assume it will still be covered under an official Nissan extended warranty? My 3 year warranty ran out at the end of October 2017, but as I bought the car in March 2017 I got Cared4 warranty till March 2018 and took the option of a further year so I'm covered till March 2019.DaveBerlin wrote: ↑Sat Nov 18, 2017 7:41 am IMHO if anybody notices a change in their QQ‘s Air Con Function I would recommend to get it checked out ASAP by a Nissan Dealer as this Problem has been widely reported on the Forum and it will cost you to get it done when out of the „Guarantee“ period - Dave
Not read all the small print, but I think as long as it's not "wear and tear" everything is still covered.

Can somebody help me please, by telling me if the following J11 2015 air conditioning behaviour is correct? It seems odd.. When you've had the heater on (say 24 degrees) if you turn down the temperature (to say 19) nothing seems to happen for ages (minutes).
The only way to get the cooling back is to drop the temperature to 16 degrees to get the air conditioning back working. Is it just my motor?! Thanks in advance for any help. (3 months off warranty end and I'm panicking!)

It depends what the internal and external temperature are at the time. If you've had the heater on at 24 degrees but its cold outside, it may only still be 19-20 inside your car (I think the internal temperature sensor is at the base of the windscreen which if near cold glass on a rainy day is going to be cooler than it possibly feels at your seat). So when you turn it down to 19, the computer doesn't think it needs to do anything.carlgoss wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2017 3:38 pm Can somebody help me please, by telling me if the following J11 2015 air conditioning behaviour is correct? It's notoriously difficult to test A/C in the autumn/winter months. It could be a warm-ish 15C outside, but if you turn it down to the near minimum 16.5 that still tells the computer you need to warm the car not cool it.
As long as you get icy cold air when you turn it to the very lowest LO setting, things should be fine. And even then on very cold days it may not work. You've probably felt how icy cold the A/C pipes get in the summer. Imagine that on a freezing day, the pipes/compressor can get so cold they damage. So there's usually a point (3 deg C, 7 deg C - different manufacturers are different), where the AC will not run at all if the external temp is below it.
