Wow, i went from a vectra c (2003) to a qashqai, huge mistake. The build quality is terrible, bought it with 90k on the clock and it drives like its done 200k. I get that its aimed at people who have no idea about cars and cant be bothered with the faf on of doing simple tasks themselves, like general maintenance.

Then theres a small minority of which i consider myself where i actually know what a car should feel like, how the engine works, how to replace my own pads, discs, clutch etc. I get that this car is aimed at the general public, but what a boring, bland, blank canvass of a vehicle. Its got no umph, no character, just a piece of mass produced convenience.

I know this was my choice of car, the missus wanted it, said it looked nice? But the disappointment was real when i pulled away in it, you can just feel the repetitive monotonous processes that finally come together in some boring chronological order to produce this bleurgh. I hope this isnt the future of cars.

Pro's: Cheap insurance and tax (all the boring legit stuff)
Con's: Qashqai.

So why did you buy it if you had a test drive and did not seem to be the car for you????? Good job you know how to do you own repairs or sell it

As above, the missus wanted it. I'd just rebuilt the top half of the engine on the vectra (cam belt shredded) and it was a bugger to start, turns out fuel rail went too, the missus wanted rid of the doubt and to have piece of mind instead. So after a month of solid graft and some pennies for parts i got rid, shes always right in an annoying way.

This will be getting passed to her if i dont manage to get shot of it, should be easy enough to fix and parts from scrappies will be cheap. Didnt know a car could impart so much disappointment. Im the qashqai's biggest critic, i dont care who else hates it, i hate it 11 times more +1. Would snap one off on the bonnet if i didn't have to clean it up afterwards.

Whose mind did she want a piece of?

At 90k, watch out for the cambelt if you bought a 1.5 diesel, or you'll be back to square one.

Sorry to hear your not a fan, I've had many cars and all have been modified despite saying I'd not do so. The QQ is a year old now I've had it less than 5 months and it's a comfortable ride too many added extras but is an ideal family carrier and for my needs ideal and so far cheap to run & tax. I still have my other cars and enjoy a blast at speed in them but I don't feel the urge in this and I'm glad as it's meant to get you to your destination in comfort not at breakneck speed etc.
Hope you get something your more happy with as your next car and your missus enjoys the QQ?

Funny how all the other car manufacturers have fallen over themselves to create a copy of a car with no character.

So you bought a car because your missus said it looked nice despite you being an expert mechanic and the fact that it drove like a shed. I would have thought that any knowledgeable and sensible person would test drive it and say to their missus "This car is crap. let's look for another one"...............unless you got it really cheap to do up yourself. You sound like either a troll or a pratt TBH.
